Stanley
I used to hear people talk about things that changed thier lives forever. I never had anything happen to me like that til I "met" Stanley. I had just started working at a vet clinic over a Christmas break in 1989 where he was being boarded. I had never seen a Standard Poodle in real life. He was six months old and the cutest big furball! His face and feet were fuzzy and he looked like a walking stuffed animal. He was shy and had bitten both of the vets. As soon as I saw him - we bonded. He walked over to me and I bent down and hugged him and I was hooked. Lo and behold - over the holiday season his owners seperated and a notice was posted at the clinic that he was for sale. I called immediately and arranged to buy him. The rest is history
Stanley was the love of my life. We spent the next ten years together. When cancer struck him - it was the worst loss I had ever suffered. Time has never filled the void in my heart.
Because of the joy and love he brought me - I started doing rescue. Because of him - I have saved over 150 Std. Poodles in the midwest. Nothing in my life has been the same since he touched my life.
Thank you to handler Dennis McCoy for the amazing handling. A special thanks to Tom Carneal for breeding Stanley and mentoring me for the last 15 years. Thank you to Stanley for changing my life - you are in my heart always.
